One of the places I visited a few years ago was a VERY unique home called Luna Parc, in which the owner/self-proclaimed "Mad Cap Artist" decorated/furnished/built his property using an abundance of found objects. He opens his home to the public once or twice a year and it's definitely worth seeing. His website isn't great, but it's a fascinating home nonetheless:
